Suneet Takhar joined IBRL in November 2019 as the analytical lab specialist. She has a Bachelor’s in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from University of Idaho and a Master’s in Food Safety/Microbiology from Texas Tech University. She has a joint appointment with IBRL and a Food Safety lab at University of Illinois. She will be assisting with HPLC analysis, microbiological analysis and other projects in the analytical lab, as well as general lab maintenance. In the past, she has worked in Food Science labs on projects ranging from food safety to food analysis. Most recently, she has been working on improving the microbiological safety of Queso Fresco, a fresh Hispanic-style cheese.
