
Isabella Chon joined IBRL in March 2024 as a Junior Student Technician on the Fermentation Team and after continually developing her skills across the lab and pilot plant is now working as an Academic Hourly. She has a Bachelor’s in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining IBRL, she worked as a Lab Technician in a eukaryotic cell lab in Champaign, where she conducted research on cell viability, protein yield optimization, and cytotoxicity. Isabella is passionate about enhancing bioprocessing operations, examining diverse microorganism strains, and cultivating the progress of new bioproducts.
