Xinhe “Michael” Huang is a third year Ph.D. student working in Dr. Cadwallader’s group. He graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in chemistry. His research is focusing on the flavor chemistry of tequila, with the overall goal of characterizing the aromas of a wide-range of tequila samples and building a model that matches the flavor profile of tequila.
He joined IBRL as a research technician in Fall 2020 and manages a variety of projects in the analytical lab. He is able to utilize many different analytical instruments including HPLC and Nitrogen Analysis (Dumas Method) to perform analysis of samples in support of process decisions and quality measurement.
