Ryan Cleary is a senior at the University of Illinois in the food science program. He always had a passion for science and its application to food from watching “How It’s Made” as a kid. His interests include travel, home fermentations, and reading. Ryan started working at the FSHN-PPP & IBRL in the summer of 2017 for an internship where he worked to develop a whole grain pizza and cookie dough recipe that utilized wheat grown on the student farm. He continues to enjoy working here because of the industry exposure and unique learning experience the facilities provide. After graduation, he plans on going directly into the industry to find a career as a product developer.
