Muhammad Mikyle is a senior at the University of Illinois, majoring in Technical Systems Management and minoring in Food and Agribusiness management. Coming from a farming family, he has developed an interest in the processing of raw agricultural commodities into marketable products, specifically food. In order to get hands-on experience with food production machinery and equipment, he started off at the FSHN-PPP and IBRL in January 2018 with an Independent Study in which he diagnosed the hot break tank loop used in the production line of tomato puree. Now he works at the FSHN-PPP and IBRL to learn more about management and safety protocols of such facilities and to further understand equipment maintenance and functioning. He hopes that his time here will help him be well equipped to start a career in the industry after he graduates. His ultimate dream is to start his own food production company in his home country of Pakistan, but for now, he is looking to build a career in the US Food and Agribusiness Industry.
