Business Office Intern

IBRL Business Office Internship
Be a part of our story. The Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory (IBRL) is leading the way in food and bioprocessing research, teaching, and scale-up activities. Our facilities include over 50,000 sq. ft. of recently constructed and modernized pilot plant, laboratory, and collaborative space filled with over $15M in pilot-scale processing equipment. Our clients range from start-up businesses to Fortune 500 companies in addition to our work supporting major federal research grants, traditional classes, and continuing education opportunities for industry. IBRL is seeking an undergraduate student to join our business office.
The internship is a paid position and will focus on assisting with a variety of general business office functions such as marketing, website updates, event planning, equipment inventory, shipment receiving, accounting tasks, and more.
Requirements:

  • Must be an undergraduate student at UIUC majoring or minoring in a business-related field.
  • Willingness to work at least 10-15 hours per week on-site at IBRL (1300 W. Pennsylvania, Urbana).
  • The ideal candidate is analytical, communicative, detail oriented, organized, responsible, punctual, and self-motivated.
    Internship Goals & Tasks:
  • Assist with marketing related tasks, such as website updates, material updates, and photography.
  • Support IBRL events by assisting with event planning tasks and/or working at the events.
  • Assist with inventory related tasks for all IBRL equipment and supplies.
  • Receive and check-in supply orders.
  • Assist with accounting related tasks.
  • Help to maintain facility spaces, such as conference rooms and client offices.
  • Other business office tasks as assigned.
