The University of Illinois’ IBRL is expanding with a $40 million project to double its size and capacity. The upgrade will add new pilot plant space, fermenters, training facilities, and offices, allowing the lab to support more companies and accelerate the scale-up of biomanufacturing and alternative protein innovation in Illinois.
