Brabender TwinLab Extruder

July 7, 2026 by Taylor Meredith

Description

The TwinLab extruder is suited for food extrusion products including direct-expanded snacks and cereals, protein crisps, and High Moisture Extrusion (HME) or High Moisture Meat Analogs (HMMA). The barrels contain 4 heating zones, with additional heating rings available depending on the die or post-extrusion attachment being used. Attachments include a 3 barrel cooling die with separate water circulator, a ribbon die, and a cutting device with circular die plugs. Dry product is fed using a Kubota loss-in-weight feeder that can be equipped for coarse or fine powders. Screw elements are removable and interchangeable to allow flexibility in screw design when developing novel products.

Additional Information

  • 20 kg/hr maximum total throughput
  • 20/40 L/D ratio
  • Max pressure: 300 bar
